Viagra for Pervs

Offenders get Rx for Medicaid-paid Viagra My only question is why do these sex offenders have testicles in the first place?

File Swapping Debate

Slashdot | Decriminalizing File Swapping I always avoid this issue because I can very strongly support either side of this argument. The above link is a good source for hearing their case. I believe that the laws need to be re reviewed and enforcement should come from the artists, in conjunction with these laws. It should not come from the suits have have don't have one grain of artistic integrity but obviously only see their green paper bottom lines.

Summer Venues

Image
We all know I'm not missing Ozzfest. The venue is a little disappointing this year. Here are some other cool alternatives to fill those lazy summer days. Sounds of the Underground is everything you could want in one metal show and then some. Gigantour is the brainchild of Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine. The Warped Tour is a staple for alt/indie rock, there are a few hardcore acts in the mix. Kat would love to check that festival out. The Warped Tour will be in Va Beach on August 9 and DC on August 10: The Dillinger Escape Plan The Academy Is... Episode Three

Image
Wow, this overall was a really good movie. So much better than the first two episodes. The story came together nicely. There are a few plot holes, and I'm hoping that there is either another movie or some kind of series between 3 and 4. Revenge of the Sith was a fun, intense movie and it lived up to everything I expected. We all got together Wednesday night and caught the midnight show. We all payed for it today and were complete zombies, but I'd do it all again in aheartbeat. To catch this movie with my closest friends meant more to me than anything.

It's Jade Week

Image
Didn't you people know? Jessi's birthday was Monday. I declared this an entire week to celebrate. Mostly because I couldn't afford a birthday present until Friday and we couldn't throw a drunken party until Saturday night. Happy Birthday, girl!! I wish all blessings for a terrific year.

The Dark Side

A while back I posted about some dreams and aspirations. I just feel the need to focus on some demons. These demons do very well at holding me back and keeping me from being the cool Mike I used to be. Over the course of the next year, I'm going to focus on these demons. Some seem shallow but all are going to be pretty hard to overcome. The supernova in which all of my interplanetary demons revolve around is my weight. I need to lose about 100 lbs. I did it once before. This just affects so many aspects of what I am socially and emotionally. Even society looks down on people that are overweight. Confidence. I used to be so cocky, and not in a bad way. I was never arrogant. I just used to smile at the lusty looks I'd get from girls or that look of envy when a guy would look up at me wishing they could be as tall and charismatic as I was. I know that still seems shallow, but from someone who went from having that to getting looks of near disgust it's something that I ha...

Social Security

Social Security As Welfare I avoid politics on my blog as much as I can. I enjoyed this morning's piece from George Will concerning past vs current Social Security and welfare reforms.

Richmond

Image
Kat and I spent the day in Richmond looking for apartments. The prices varied of course by location, but I saw a bunch of places that look promising. It looks like if we want something affordable on 1 1/2 paychecks it's going to be outside of the city. Things are going to work out well though because even though the standard of living is so much higer there than it is here, the pay increases will compensate for it. Now I have to get myself readjusted to city life. I never thought I'd say I needed to adjust to it. I can't wait to start brand new and I can't wait to see my wife spread her wings and discover....life.

Stuck in a Massive Routine

I have to admit, I'm an old fart. I love routine. I like having my whole week scheduled out. Don't get me wrong, I do like the spontanaiety, but there's nothing like knowing when people are going to be over, what's for lunch and supper, when it's my turn to do laundry or clean out the kitchen. The past few weeks have kind of been a repeat of the last. Let's see if I can recap and post some random thoughts. Ready? Every other weekend for the past couple months, we have been visiting the inlaws at the campgrounds at Natural Bridge. It's so beautiful and quiet over there...well until we show up. We get our drink on, our smoke on, and act up until midnight or later. I'm sure the other campers hate our guts too! Monday nights the wife and I lock our door and have a nice quiet night together. It's great fun! Tuesdays everyone comes over to watch House on Fox. We all hang out and talk and unwind after a long day of work. Wednesdays someone brings ...
