Irreverance, Part 3

Image
It's that time of the week again. That time where I look at some news items and say a lot of nothing about them. For links, and to see what the heck I'm talking about, check out the sidebar for my live google reader feed. You're going to want to look at that for any of this to make sense! I've posted both in my blog here and in my Tumblog recent footage from festivals in Europe such as Download and Graspop. These videos are so much better in quality. Hopefully gone are the days of crappy recordings. Even better, I can pull these videos from youtube and put them on my iPod. How nerdy is that? Speaking of internet content, I found on digg a great list of social music networks. As most of you know, I frequent last.fm, but there are many sites out there and there is definately something for everyo ne. It's a shame the recording industry seeks to shut this medium down. I've discovered so many bands through these networks not to mention myspace and other social sites

Goosebumps!

I ask you to show me a candy ass pop concert with this many people, and I'll show you a Richmond, VA band that can draw tens of thousands more. I love this clip. Go Lamb of God!!

I'm Shocked..

I was reading news on Digg and saw that Chris Benoit and his family were found dead in their home. That's just mind blowing. He was one of my favorite wrestlers.. One of the last pure style pro wrestlers remaining. My heart goes out to the surviving members of their families and I hope the authorities get to the bottom of what happened. That's just sad. RIP Crippler

Good Stuff

Yep, Janine and I are hooked on the new Battlestar Galactica on Sci-Fi. We're watching the first season thanks to Blockbuster. I highly recommend it over these summer months of reruns and annoying talent shows. It's not just about spaceships and lasers, it actually has a plot and several plot twists. And there's only a couple seasons and you're caught up. Don't forget about my tumblog , people. I post there daily! (I've hijacked The Lewis show. Let's talk about the reformation of Menudo) Ok hijacker Janine, it's Menudo time! Yeah, Menudo. The official interrogation artists at Club Gitmo...

Drama Groundhog!

Dramatic events happen in everyone's life. Now with the help of this drama rodent, those moments can pop. For example: I'm wearing my shoes on the wrong feet....on purpose!

Father's Day!

Dad with Red at our last visit I just can never say enough how lucky I am to be Lawrence's son. I know the man so well, which is why I'm going to post about his day, before even calling him, and I know I'll hit his day head on. He got up around 8AM, he loves to sleep in on Sunday, it's his one day to do so. Normally he's up before 5AM. He'll let the dog out and turn the TV on. Sometimes he'll put his radio on so he can listen to gospel music..it is Sunday. Around 9:30, he'll hop in the shower and get dressed for church. Mom will have bacon and eggs ready for him when he's dressed. They'll say a prayer together where they pray for my brother and his wife and for Janine and I, and he'll eat and head off to church. Being as active as he is in the church, and well..just being Lawrence, he'll spend the first 30 minutes at church getting barraged by his friends. Then he'll gather them all together in the main sancutary and lead the Sunda

There's No Posts

Yeah, I've droned on and on about twitter , but the other craze in microblogging comes from Tumblr ! If you don't see posts on the main blog, there will always be twitter posts and I'll throw something on my tumble log at least once a day! So there, now there's so much Lewis Show it's almost unbearable. At any rate, what's been going on? Not much this week. Janine and I have been catching up on some older movies and some newer releases. She had never seen Mission Impossible 2, so we saw that, that was our Tom Cruise quota for at least the next 18 months. We also watched Pan's Labyrinth and The Fountain which have to be two of the most bizarre and dark movies that I know we both have seen in a long, long, long time! I've been a grilling manic too! We got one of those small charcoal grills and I've pretty much cooked everything on it that's able to be cooked. Everything from hot dogs, to hamburgers, to barbq chicken strips. Very yummy! Sam a

Irreverance Pt 2

I know I haven't been on in a while. There's nothing really blog worthy going on. So make sure you keep up with my twitter posts! And now, my news of the week: American Idol over here is a competition for pop stars. It's funny how the rockers never really make it to the finale, I don't think that's by accident, but in Finland, their Idol winners are heavy metal singers who turn out pretty decent albums. Maybe we should just try that..one year. Hell, that Doughtry guy has been killing the charts. Think about it.. I never have watched the Sopranos, nor am I going to spoil the ending, but people are pretty ticked off about how it ended. I'm convinced there has to be a movie now. Here's news. A socialist leader is asking people to give up freedoms and luxuries. First they lose freedom of press, now every day freedoms. Hugo Chavez is just being plain predictable now, and boring. I've posted before Janine's interest into being an ocularist. I'm probabl

I Want One!!!!!

For Kelly 2007

Image
As many of you know from reading my blog, I have posted about my good friend and coworker Kelly quite a bit. From the times that he took me home after work when I didn't have a car, to the blog monster that I helped to create. Last year, I took Kelly's challenge and posted for pride month, a picture that he took of his front yard with his American and Gay Pride flags. I'm doing the same this year, not just because I know him personally and it's a good gesture, but hopefully to raise some awareness this month to learn, to find ways, to practice celebrating diversity and tolerance for people from many different backgrounds. The great men and women in our era did not earn their mark from persecution but from rising above persecution and accepting people for who they are. The picture the he took earlier this year represents the many forces of nature coming together to create one phenomenon. Kelly's dream is that we all come together, from all of our various backgrounds

My Monster Blog!

I sometimes get carried away with my baby here. I've had this blog for almost 3 years now, and it's evolved quite a bit. It's gone from stoner rant, to drunken rant, to desperate rant, to happy rant in a short amount of time. I've even purchased the domain. That's so cool it hurts! Let's take a look at what my sidebar has to offer to everyone now: Not as if anyone needs to find anything on my blog, but I have Google's API in case someone wants to check out my reviews of Ozzfest or maybe check out the articles I've discussed. No biggie there. My profile which I have not updated in a very long time, but at least you can see my mug welcoming people as they visit the site...and for that, I'm very sorry. I am a Twitter fanatic! I twitter at work, at home, watching TV, everywhere. I can see easily once I have a cell phone plan with unlimited texting, me twittering at stoplights. Yes, I'll be one of those people.. Nostalgia. My God I've come a long
