This Friday!

Yo Biotches! Nothing more can be done for this sorry ass town than what's going down Friday at Cattle Annies. 4 metal bands will be playing and tearing it up. I can not stress enough how important it is to pack this redneck bar wall to wall. Find a way to be there, it's cheap and it's going to be loud! Let me just say that again. Metal Concert. Lynchburg. Metal Concert in Lynchburg! Come on! And you know what? The next time someone whines about there being nothing to do in town is going to just get backhanded. If this event goes well, there will be a lot more like it. Be there or just shut the hell up. I sure do cuss a lot. I'm really a nice guy..I just have a low BS tolerance. Really, really low.

She's In!

Kat got her letter of acceptance today for Virginia Commonwealth University! I'm so excited for her. Today is also the 6th year anniversary of our first date. I can't believe how fast time flew. That day we met up at a local baseball field and went for a walk and she took my hand. I haven't let go since. Cross your fingers for us. The next four years should prove to be very interesting.

Sometimes...

Sometimes I just want to smack my family. All of em. I called my parents up tonight to see how they were doing and to wish them a Happy Easter. Dad tells me right off that Mom was in the hospital from pulling the muscle in her chest and he thought she was close to dying. ...close to dying. What the hell??!! I didn't say anything but I did get to speak to my Mom who is doing ok, but sounds really week. I have to go see them really soon. What really just pisses me off and burns my skin is that I don't hear about any of this. Not a damn word until I call them. I think something like that would merit a phone call. I don't care what I have going on in my life, that's just pretty asinine of them. I know I don't do many rants on my blog but this has to be a rare exception. I moved from Chicago back in 1998 so that I could be closer to my family, especially my Mom. She had suffered from strokes, emphysema and aneurysms. I would just appreciate for them to call

Metal Travel Guide

\m/ The Metal Travel Guide \m/ You know the routine by now, at least I do. Whenever we set out to invade another town, we go online and book a hotel and then search for events in that area. Metal Travel Guide displays venues in America, Europe, pretty much everywhere. Why didn't I think about doing this?

I'm Ready!!!!!!11!!

Damn Right I'm Ready

Ok, you're probably asking yourself, "Why is this clown posting all these are you ready posts?" I just look at all the cool stuff coming our way from music to movies and it's going to be an entertaining year! And I have to ask. Are you ready? Of course you are. I still have to ask though.

We Survived

What a crazy fun weekend! Friday afternoon we took off and headed to see All That Remains with Shadows Fall, Lamb of God, and Slipknot. We got to Hampton around 5:30 or so, checked into the hotel and got in line for the show. I think they packed about 8500 people into the Hampton Colesium and everyone was there from the very start. All 4 bands played amazing sets. I just wished they could have played all night. Slipknot was limping badly, literally. Clown has been at his wife's bedside for the past 3 weeks and the rest of the band were fighting off colds and other injuries. They still came out and played their asses off for their maggots, though. Jessi, Gene, and I escaped to the seats to see Slipknot because I knew the floor was going to be a little on the crazy side and Jessi only comes up to everyone's chest so she wouldn't have been able to see anything. We all got back to the hotel, lit up, and crashed. Sunday morning, I took everyone to Va Beach to show th

Nerd Report

Ok, enough metal news. How about some geek news? For the 2 people left on earth that do not have a gmail account, fear not, gmail is going live on April 1. No joke. Speaking of which, if you need a gmail account, I have about 60 to give away. Just email the radio station and I will give you as many as you need (while supplies last). I think everyone who has received and have all their AOL disks sitting around the house should take this offer seriously. It is going to be a beautiful day to see a million AOL disks flooding the front offices of AOL here in northern VA. In geek meets metal news. Metallica.com was hacked last week. Check out the screenshot/article . For geek news as far as the eye can see, be sure to always check out Slashdot and digg .

Ozzfest Bands Announced!

: : Ozzfest 2005 : : Get The Best Seats Here! Here's the list: Black Sabbath Iron Maiden Killswitch Engage Shadows Fall Black Label Society The second stage will be headlined by Rob Zombie. Other acts are: As I Lay Dying Mastodon The Haunted In Flames Arch Enemy The Black Dahlia Murder Bury Your Dead Soilwork Trivium It Dies Today A Dozen Furies I'm friggen' stoked! Most of the bands are no surprise. I'm sure over the next couple weeks some bands are going to be added, because that's a pretty thin main stage. I'm thinking they're going to give Iron Maiden a longer set, and they should. I'm hoping Hatebreed, Disturbed, Mudvayne, and Tool get asked to jump on. I'm thinking for sure Anthrax will be added too. Look for me at the DC event on July 24!

Pic from the Show Art of Destruction Bleed 3 Inches of Blood The Agony Scene Still Remains Trivum So we're all sitting around Friday night and Shawn mentions that Trivium will be in Springfield Saturday night. That's all we needed to hear. We got tickets, rented a mini van, and drove up to the DC area on the 12th. Damn, that's a long drive too! First band that played was the Chesapeake death metal trio Art of Destruction. It's ok, stuff, they just lack personality, and I'm pretty sure that is what they're aiming for. Pure aggression, little crowd reaction. It didn't help that Jaxx didn't open their doors until 5 minutes before the first band played. I hear that's pretty typical of them. Next band was the big surprise. Bleed. Why hasn't a band already taken that name? Their sound matches their name. It's brutal! I loved it and I hope these guys make it big. I'm going to see if I can get some of their demos on my radio show. The band ha

Happy Birthday, Me!

I remember when I was 17, sitting with my friends, swearing we would never live long enough to see 30. It's a wonder I've made it this far! So now I turn 31, over the next few days, I'm going to attempt to post my life story. I did kind of an overview of my parents a few months ago, I just feel if I'm going to keep an online journal, I should at least write some kind of small autobiography. No big plans for tonight. I'm pretty sure I'll get the usual phone calls, cards, silly gag gifts, and some quality time with the wife. I was asked what I wanted for my birthday. I can only think of what other people need. I take that as pretty deep contentment with my own life. God, I'm so old now...

St. Diablo Downward Halo Unhinge Sicks Deep Who would have ever imagined? Metal bands playing at Cattle Annie's . April 1, that's a Friday, get off your ass if you're anywhere near Lynchburg and check out probably the crazyiest thing that has happened to this town in a long, long time.

Happy Birthday, Dad!

Today is my father's 63rd birthday. The man will be forever young. I just wish that I could express to him the love, admiration, and respect that I truely feel for him. I honestly feel sorry for anyone who does not have the distinction of meeting this man. Heaven must really think highly of me to bless my life with such an amazing father.

Slipknot Lamb of God Shadows Fall March 18th is sneaking up on me fast. Kat, Jessi, Gene, and I will be heading to Hampton to see these bands preform. The plan, I hope is to spend the next day in Virginia Beach to see my family again. I haven't seen a lot of them in a long while now. I best get off my ass and purchase the tickets and get a hotel room. I procrastinate way too much.

Lucid Dreaming

Lucid Dreaming Frequently Asked Questions Answered by The Lucidity Institute I can't help but read this with great intrigue and fascination. My friend Jessi would probably benefit most from learning about lucid dreaming. Some people have very strong, vivid dreams and can remember them in great detail. I just want to dream that I'm a huge celebrity with perfect abs and lots and lots of money.

My Next Bahama Vacation

Gear Live | Poseidon Plans World's First Sea Floor Resort Complex I often wondered when we would see an underground hotel/resort. Now all I need is to save up and reserve a suite for my wedding anniversary.

Google Calendar?

Slashdot | Google Calendar Coming Soon? I use Mozilla Sunbird . This will be a very interesting app from Google . Everyone should have some kind of software like this. It beats carrying around one of those date books. That is SOOO 2004!

To Do:

This is not freaking optional, people. Take an hour out of your life, check out this site, figure out how you can help our troops in Iraq and help make a difference. I was moved by the story of the soldier who gave a beanie baby to a child in Iraq and she later pointed to the soldiers a roadside bomb. But this isn't about saving their lives, it's about making their lives in Iraq just a little bit better. Get to it.
