Euro 2012 Thoughts

Image
This clip kind of blew me away. I have been following the Euro 2012 tournament. I've become more and more interested in football (soccer) now since the World Cup. I can even remember watching as a kid with my dad and some British friends. The song being sung is "The Fields of Athenry", an Irish ballad adopted by the Irish football club. What stands out is that these fans are not singing because they won. In fact, they were being trounced by Spain 4-0. In American football terms that's similar to being down 56-0 with 1:26 left in the ball game. Take note, Redskin fans, these are not boos, this is what fans do to show their support for their team. Do turn into this tournament, it's actually been pretty exciting. Despite the Irish heritage on my Mom's side, I've always followed the German team (since I come from the Ludwig family). Happy Father's Day

Image
Lawrence on leave while serving in the Navy I've always said I hope to be a tenth as cool and as smart as my Dad. I realize I may never achieve that goal. That goal may be too lofty and unrealistic and I'm sure he would prefer I set blaze my own path. It still does not stop me from trying or reminding myself that I need to try harder. I'm very fortunate to have him as my father. Happy Fathers Day to all. It's a noble responsibility and we surely need more responsible dad's in our world.

Last Weekend - Photos

Image
We had a bit of a road trip last weekend. Janine's family held a Memorial Day weekend gathering on the Northern Neck. Being from Warsaw myself, I knew this was going to be a good time. There is a family house outside of Reedville with close access to the Chesapeake Bay. The house is beautiful and there are a lot of houses over there for sale reasonably. I have a feeling Janine and I are going to be looking into vacation houses as we get our current house paid for. What a great way to get away from it all! I can not say enough about how we have some of the most beautiful real estate in the country right here.  I wanted to drop a couple photos here.
