My Vote/Best Year Ever

The winner, TECHNOVIKING!

Go Pack, Go!!

It's Playoff time! Green Bay will host either the Seahawks, Giants, or Bucs depending on this weekend's wildcard action. Bring 'em on, there is nothing more imposing than having to visit the frozen tundra of Lambeau field in early January. Go Pack!!!

2007 Has Vanished!

I'm getting to the point where it feels like I just did my 2005 and 2006 years in review yesterday. This year has really flown too. Thanks to my blog, I can recap all the highlights of my year for everyone to relive, again. We are definitely in strained times in a scary world, but we all made it another year intact. Here's my last twelve months, in review...random style! Janine and I brought in the New Year in Maryland with her friends Dee and Brian. It feels like it was an eternity ago. We got there pretty late, party, crashed hard, got up and drove down pretty much the entire eastern seaboard the next day. We were tired, tired puppies when we got home on the 1st. In February, we went to visit my brother, his wife, and son in Harford County, Maryland. We had a nice abbreviated stay, it was good to see Kaleb again. We then went straight to Rachel and Andy's house to celebrate Keeper's birthday. Janine and I may have mastered the multi task weekend. We also went to visit

The Christmas Remix

If I keep putting off my recap of Christmas, it won't change the fact that I need to do my Christmas recap. I'll have a New Year's recap next week after Janine and I get back from Maryland. Christmas Eve, Janine and I celebrated with her Mom at her house with her family. It's always a good time and I've become really attached with everyone. We all bring in food to great excess. I brought in deviled eggs. It was my first try at trying to make those tasty little treats, but with Janine and my Mom's help, it went smoothly. I ate myself to utter misery and then we all opened presents. They do a really neat Secret Santa exchange where everyone draws a number and people exchange already opened gifts. I got a tub of popcorn! The next morning, we got up and exchanged gifts in a more quiet immediate family setting at Janine's Moms house. I got a really nice pair of gloves and a much needed shirt. Then we went to her Uncle's for breakfast. The food is always good

Yes!!!

Janine and I just saw this trailer. Our response, Holy Crap!!

Dear Random Person

I'm going to start a new feature to my blog, I'm sure it's not original, and it's probably pretty rude, but the release will keep me from backhanding people, so I see this as an exercise in restraint. Dear Visitor Lady from Central America, I've never been one of those radical, old fashioned, wrapped in the flag uber conservative types that get on their soapboxes and yell out, "Learn English if you want to live here!", but I felt like that man today. I'm very glad your four year old son was there to translate for you with the cashier at the drug store by the way. Kudos to him, but I digress. I guess I have a question for you, oh lady who's face I never saw, and that question is why would you buy two things of nail polish, a big tube of fancy lotion, foundation, a soda, and two pack of Menthols, and not understand the total was going to exceed that ten dollar bill that you had? I knew that it would, your husband knew that it would and even offered t

Saturday with Flock

So I finally decided to check out a new web browser. Flock promises to deliver everything that we love about surfing the interwebs with one noticeable twist. Now you can integrate your own social networks with the browser to make sharing links, videos, pics, etc, really simple. I'm even posting this from Flock, they have a built in editor to post straight to my blogger account without even having to visit the site. And on top of that, all I had to do to load the screen shot was to drag the item into my clipboard. This makes a lot of things that I do on a daily basis a lot easier. I think overall, it has some way to go. For example, there are other networks that I'm on, that would really be nice to have integrated on flock, such as Pownce. There was no word wrap when I was trying to read my Twitter feed, that's very annoying. There are a few minor bugs, but overall I highly recommend everyone downloading this browser and loading up all those hundreds of social networks th

Plug O' The Week

Image
You would expect something Christmassy, but no, I'll save that until next week. This week I'm plugging one of the local dives here in town. As you know many moons ago, I used to go to a lot of shows and review them and have a lot of fun visiting Richmond. Richmond was missing one thing, though, and that was a big enough venue to house the bigger acts as they come through town. Enter Toad's Place . They have a pretty big facility downtown, and while I have not gone yet, it looks like I'll start visiting soon. Lamb of God has already played there, Megadeth has already played there, along with several acts, in all genres, not just heavy metal. But I'm plugging Toad's because I'm glad there's somewhere big enough in town that can host acts like Rob Zombie, Machine Head, and Hell Yeah!

Clutch Monday

Sam contacted me earlier and said he wants to come visit us in March to see Clutch in concert. So I figured I'd show off some Clutch live from Sounds of the Underground. I've always been fond of this Maryland outfit, I can't wait to see them live.

I Do Have Something!

My web plug of the week! I almost forgot despite writing this on my hand (with 2 other things that I'm supposed to remember 1. Pizza 2. Coworkers laptop travel bag) I heard this on one of my podcasts last month and this site has brought me hours of laughter. Passive Aggressive Notes is fun because you can almost always relate to the pain of the person that wrote the note, and the shocked reactions of the person intended to receive that note. The site shows notes written to roommates, coworkers, tenants, you get the idea. The site shows pictures of those notes along with commentary and has some of the best comments that I've read in any blog. I highly recommend checking this site out and always remember to clean the dishes out of the sink!

Why Aren't You On My Tumblr?

It's been a very quiet week so far. I think it's the calm before the Holiday storm. I'm hoping we'll have the house decorated by this weekend and things will be more Christmassy. Until then, I got nothing, how about some lyrics? Stone Sour - Sillyworld Freedom's just a word today Freedom's just a word When someone takes your word away it's seldom ever heard So take a sentence full of things you're not supposed to say Carry on, but don't write it down or you'll be gone Love is just a song today Love is just a song When someone takes the song away you seldom sing along So take those lyrics serious and sing your life away Carry on, but don't write 'em down or they'll be gone All we ever do is talk We like to ride but we never walk We make it so damn easy We get bored Why can't anybody see what's good for you is good for me I can't take your sillyworld I can't take your sillyworld no more Peace is just two fingers now Peac

Dime Tribute by Video

Image
As I've mentioned and as many of my metal head friends are very well aware of, today marks the three year anniversary when "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott was shot and killed in Columbus, Ohio. This has recently always been a very sad day for me, but as time goes on, I don't feel the sadness anymore. I feel the need to make something out of my life. Maybe not in the ways that Abbott did, but maybe if anything to entertain people, or give them something to smile about. I hope I acc omplish this today. These videos put a smile on my face and hopefully they'll be enjoyed by all. They say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. No band can ever recreate the magic that created and taken away from us by losing Darrell Abbott, but the feeling is just the same. I wanted to post some covers that were done by small bands, all inspired by Pantera and Dime. Probably one of the coolest tributes that I've seen was done by Trivium. Here they covered Domination and Walk. M

Spontanious Random Combustion!

That's right, I'm all in your face with random thoughts! Wine + warm cozy room + warm cozy chair = napping fits! This seemed like a long week. I think that's mostly due to the fact that I really would like a day off to reset my internal clock. My internal clock is all screwy because now it's pitch black dark almost by 5 O Clock. I don't remember it ever getting this dark this early! I feel like I lose my whole day. All those hours of sunshine...to sit inside and play with the Wii that is. Miss Clairol and I are really looking forward to Saturday night. I'm sure Kelly and Jeff are going to throw one heck of a Christmas party. With the Redskins game already played and won last night, what are my chances that I'll get to see a Packers game on Sunday? Probably about as much of a chance if the Redskins were playing on Sunday. Speaking of the Packers. Big game this week against the Raiders. Mikey is very nervous. I don't think I'll get much of a chance to

PU Congress Stinky Poo

Image
I hear a lot, especially on the web, how Pres. Bush is the worst President ever. I don't think a day goes by whenever scanning the political feeds that I see some kind of story with those words. I don't see as much the words, " Worst Congress Ever ". Looking at these numbers, a lot of people sure feel that way. Must be a lot of bias around if that's not pasted on every political board on the web and on the TV at least 6 or 7 times a day. So, Congress, you stink, don't get too comfortable in that office. So sayeth a whole lot of people, I guess. Maybe I should do polls. I'll be sure to only call during dinner and naptimes.

PS Richmond Drivers

Image
When the wet stuff freezes on your windshield on contact that means it's going to freeze to other surfaces as well. This produces something commonly called "Ice" . Ice does not produce a lot of friction and as a result the laws of motion are almost completely suspended when there is an occurrence of "Ice". Travelling at speeds over 60 miles per hour or repeated hard stops do not help with this suspension of friction needed to stop these vehicles. Just a reminder dear Richmond drivers to just slow the F*UCK down when driving on an "icy" surface! Thank you, you may go back to the regular digging of your @ss!

New Media!

Some Pics, Some Thoughts

First let me assure everyone that there will be no posts or mention about Batman. I will not make another mention of Batman until I go to see the new Batman. So that's it for Batman. Now for some updates with pictures! The guy on the floor is Janine's brother Wes. Now Wes is a pretty tall guy, but he looks pretty short when he lays across the floor in front of that massive plasma TV! It is also hard to stand when beholding the great Brett Favre in high definition. The turkey didn't help either. Thanksgiving was a lot of fun. We went to Janine's Moms house for dinner. Janine's sister made everything and it was delicious! All I can remember after that was a nap, football and the drive home. I like showing off Janine's handy work. I'm very proud of her work! On the ends are two paintings of Janine and I in skeleton form. She did all that painting by hand. I'm still trying to figure out which one of us is taller. In the middle is a black wreath that she made

I'm Not Batman Crazy

But since I have posted so many recent pictures from the soon to be released Batman film, I thought I'd just post the..poster.

Fracking A!

I think Heath Ledger is going to be a terrific Joker. I also think the studio making this film is going to keep "leaking" out these little teasers which are just only going to succeed at driving me insane until the movie is released!

Happy Metal Monday!

White Zombie was scary. I have to admit it's one of the most intense concerts I had been to. It was also a lot of fun. Here's the video for Welcome to Planet Mother F.....r!

What's New, You Ask?

Image
Here we are, kids. It's December already, the year is winding down, and I haven't even began to decorate. I have had a productive December so far, though. I went to the DMV to get my tags renewed and to finally change my address. I can't believe I skipped out on that for months! Normally this is where you would expect me to gripe or complain about the long lines, or bad service at the DMV, but honestly it was an enjoyable experience. I did have alittle bit of a line at the information line to get my number. Some lady decided to ask a million questions at that counter knowing full damn well they can ask the DMV rep when her number is called just like the rest of us. At any rate, I got my number, sat down to fill out my two forms and my number was called halfway into filling out he first form. Now this was not a complicated form, just so you know how fast they are. The form basically composed of me writing my name and address and signature. So I was very pleased by everything
