So Anything New?

Image
Actually, Gina, there hasn't been a damn thing going on. I've been couped up in this apartment and my wife has been busting her tail with her job and her school. Good news, though. We are planning on going to Lynchburg Saturday night to hang out with the crew. I can't wait to get out of this town again...but mostly I can't want to work long hours..long long hours.

Video CDs

Something I'm pretty well known for lately is compiling metal videos and placing them on a CD and watching them with my friends. Now this is on hold because I'm on dial up for the time being, but soon enough I can see myself making more and entertaining the masses. How would I do this myself you ask? Well, I'm very glad you asked. Let's start off with the easy stuff. There are two websites that I go to frequently to check for new and updated videos. There are lots of them out there, but this is where I start my search. UrbanChaosVideo s and HDPVideos basically have anything one would need for quick and easy http downloading. You are going to need broadband because these files are at least 30MB and that takes about 4 hours on dial up, I think. I'm too scared to even try. Secondly, if you're looking for something older, something not metal, or something rare, the best place to look is IRC. Again, there are probably a million places to download music videos on IRC...

Masters of Horror

Image
What is wrong with me? There has been no metal news, no metal reviews, nothing! I should be taken out back and shot like a borrowed mule. Well in an attempt to keep my street cred, here's something for you to feast on. Masters of Horror is a series on Showtime and it burns my ass that I can't catch this year's offering, but I can at least pick up the soundtrack! Check the songlist below. Wowwie wow wow. There are live, acoustic, and unreleased tracks from your favorite artists. Best of all Juliya is featured on MySpace . Go pick this album up, it's a trainwreck and you won't want to look away. CD1 1.Mudvayne - "Small Silhouette" 2.Norma Jean - "ShaunLuu" 3.It Dies Today - "Enjoy The Silence" 4.Funeral For A Friend - "Lazarus (In The Wilderness)" 5.Andrew WK - "You Will Remember Tonight" 6.Armor For Sleep - "Very Invisible" 7.Scary Kids Scaring Kids - "What's Up Now" 8.Shadowsfall - "This ...

Mr. 3000

Image
So I'm checking my blog last night to see if there were any comments and I saw that I was visitor number 3000. Now that is one large round number. I tell ya the internet is a fascinating thing when an online journal can capture that kind of attention. I don't even know how the people who have 100,000 visitors keep their humility!

Another October Birth Day

Image
My friends Marty and Sarah brought baby Peyton into the world last week. Naturally another October baby, but not only that, he was born the same day as my nephew, Kaleb. So welcome to earth lil' buddy.

This WebSpace

I'm quite proud of my little home on the internet, but I figured if I want people to get something out of my page, I might as well give a little 3 hour tour. It's ok, I'll have you back by dinnertime. Naturally you see the content down the middle of my page. I try to keep it up to date with interesting articles, jokes, personal entries, and upcoming events. Since that's all that flows through my mind anyways, I might as well build my site around that. The left sidebar is mostly my advertising space. On that side of my webpage anyone can get useful information, view the sites that I look at regularly, and even download the software that I use every day. It's my way of giving back. I hate seeing people using less than adequate software that leads to viruses and spyware. I also give people the chance to click on my friends' blogs and check out what's going on in their lives. They are much more interesting than I am, mostly. You can even search TheLewisShow for ...

If Men Ruled the World

1. Hallmark would make "Sorry, what was your name again?" cards. 2. Nodding and looking at your watch would be deemed an acceptable response to "I love you." 3. When your girlfriend really needed to talk to you during the game, she'd appear in a little box in the corner of the screen during a time-out. 4. Birth control would come in ale or lager. 5. The funniest guy in the office would get to be CEO. 6. At the end of the workday, a whistle would blow and you'd jump out your window and slide down the tail of a brontosaurus and right into your car like Fred Flintstone. 7. It'd be considered harmless fun to gather 30 friends, put on horned helmets, and go pillage a nearby town. 8. Tanks would be far easier to rent. 9. Garbage would take itself out. 10. Instead of beer belly, you'd get "beer biceps". 11. Instead of an expensive engagement ring, you could present your wife-to-be with a giant foam hand that said, "You're #1!". 12. V...

What's so bad about October?

Image
It's not that October is a bad month, Jessica, but it seems that everyone I know was born in this month. And every month, I'm not able to buy anyone anything because I'm so damn broke. My Mom, my mother in law, my sister in law, my buddy Megan, both of my nephews, and I'm sure I'm forgetting somebody. Well, Happy Birthday you poor suckers born in October. Waiting a month or two to be born would have netting you gifts, but nooo!

Thoughts about Mom..

Last Saturday my Mother, Judy, celebrated her 63rd birthday. I consider that quite the accomplishment considering she has full blown emphysema and she's survived several strokes and aneurisms. I got to talk to her earlier this week to wish her a happy birthday and to see how she was doing. It's not looking too good. She doesn't have the desire to force herself to get up to fix dinner, or do housework. She has been basically a prisoner of her oxygen tank for about 3 years now. She smoked 3/4's of her life and quitting a couple years ago was the best thing she ever did, but she is paying for that even today....as we speak. In our conversation Mom expressed, or it was implied, that she just didn't have the strength to go on. I was very hurt to see this, but she has endured so many things over so many years, I'm just amazed at how long she held out and how strong she was through everything. It all started about 43 years ago. Mom married my Father, Lawrence in August...
