It has been a busy couple of days but I've gotten to eat at two of the finest restaurants in Richmond! Last night after work, we all got together at Franco's Italian Ristorante to have dinner with some guest speakers at our symposium. That was a very enjoyable evening. I got to meet one of my biggest producers, and got a few stories from my boss on Kelly. I'm sure there will be a time when I can share those stories! I had the penne alla vodka, and it was very good, I highly recommend it. The food was wonderful. There's something about eating at a fancy restaurant, something about eating food that requires different utensils, something about a dimly lit room and lots of Chardonnay. Tonight, to honor my first year with Janine, I made reservations at The Tobacco Company in downtown Richmond. I'm sure many people figured out from my hint the location. We had a really, really good time. Our waiter, Jay, was helpful and professional. The food was amazing. I was just thril...
Here's a rundown of what I've been doing over the past several days: P layed with my iPod, played with my iPod, played with my iPod, played with my iPod, played with my iPod, played with my iPod, played with my iPod, played with my iPod, played with my iPod, played with my iPod, played with my iPod, played with my iPod, played with my iPod, pla yed with my iPo d, played with my iPod, played with my iPod, and played with my iPod. I know, I've been slacking on the blogging, I've slacked on my radio station. I suck. The station is back on the air again, so please tune in, metalheads. I'm obviously updating the blog now, so that takes care of two birds with one big, smooth, stone. New Year's came and went pretty quick. Janine and I hopped in the PT Cruiser and rode to Easton, Maryland to party with her friends. I had such a good time with them. I can see w hy Janine is so close to them. They're all so laid back and fun and genuine people. We all got pretty tipsy...
Last year I was harsh on the city of my residence. I made a very angry post about local customer service. I recalled several bad experiences I've had in town. It has been one of the most read posts on my blog over the past couple years. My point wasn't to look down my nose at this town that I've only called home for five years, but to remind the locals that it doesn't pay to be rude. Not in this day and age. I can easily take my spending money away from the local "brick & mortars" altogether and be perfectly happy. This year I've had a different impression. It wasn't perfect, I still would like to share a few cross words at the T Mobile rep who wore his ass on his sleeve before Christmas. But apparently the city wants my money again. A couple years of recession and fears of lay offs has seemingly corrected several attitudes in town. Is that the only reason? I think in this new day where local businesses are interacting with their customers ov...
