CNN.com - Katrina hits Florida: 2 dead; 1 million in dark
That's right. Don't mess with Katrina.
I just found this funny, not because of the pain and expense that hurricanes bring, because they named a hurricane after my wife. If they only knew.
Kat's first classes were today. She's been in Richmond since yesterday and I miss her terribly. Kat come back!

When I posted this, I had no idea how destructive this storm would become. I didn't want to create a new post, but I did want to post my thoughts...take em for face value.
ReplyDelete1. This whole blaming game is just stupid. We as humans need to realize that goverment dependance is ignorant because as sure as we breathe, we will all be failed by the goverment at some point be it local, state, or federal.
2. If there is some finger pointing to do, lets look at FEMA. Let's find out why they had problems helping the people that morning after the hurricane hit.
3. We all need to help. If everyone in this country gave 20 dollars at the very least, a lot of people would have sufficient relief, right now!
4. Let's press our government for changes..not the federal government, your LOCAL government, it is their job to carry out plans that are made in advance of a crisis. After 9/11, we should have a playbook ready to go for hurricanes, bombings, chemical or nuclear attacks, everything we can think of.
It's up to us people, not elected officials, so knock off the bickering and get something accomplished and let the guilty parties get found and dealt with.
